Middle school and high school students meet on Sunday mornings to share their highs and lows from the past week and look forward to following Jesus in the week ahead. Bible study and discussion begins at 11:10 a.m. and runs through noon. Students also have the opportunity to study God’s Word on Sunday evenings from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
At First Church, young people are welcomed and encouraged to participate in, and sometimes lead, worship. From leading music to prayer and liturgy, students are an active part of all of our worship experiences.
On Wednesday evenings during the school year, students gather for dinner, Bible study, worship and fun. Dinner with the First Church family starts at 5 p.m. The youth praise band leads student worship followed by a message or Bible study. Midweek Message events wrap up at 7:30.
We are kicking things into gear this semester with some worship and games at 6 p.m. followed by a message from group leader Cyndi Chamberlin. For 6-weeks we will be studying “Short Stories by Jesus” going over parables like “The Good Samaritan” “The Mustard Seed” and “The Lost Son.” We will learn how to apply these to our current lives and situations we may encounter.
Students at First Church have the opportunity to experience outdoor camps at Camp Egan Retreat Center in Tahlequah and Camp Walk On Water (WOW) in Stuart.
Campers can climb a rock wall, ride a zip line, swim in lakes, and more. Times of worship provide connection with God through great music and messages. Another focus is time spent in small groups to discuss and grow in faith with others. >> Learn more
