MIDWEEK MESSAGE SERIES TO HIGHLIGHT JOHN WESLEY’S REFLECTIONS ON SCRIPTURE

Methodism’s founder John Wesley considered the Bible central to the Christian movement he founded. Beginning Jan. 9, at Midweek Message, First Church will explore Scripture through Wesley’s own words as we seek to address 21 century questions.

In the study, Scripture and the Wesleyan Way, each chapter explores a key Scripture text and one of Wesley’s sermons about the text in order to illuminate his understanding about what it means to be a real Christian. The authors show how the teachings of Wesley address questions that many people in the 21 century still struggle with today. As you study Scripture and Wesley’s words, you will hear a call to live a new life and be inspired to respond to this call with faith and boldness.

Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Midweek Message Senior Pastor Dr. Greg Tener, will explore these topics and address questions that many of us struggle with today.

MIDWEEK MESSAGE SERIES DISCUSSING JESUS’S PRAYERS, PARABLES, AND HEALING MINISTRY

The four Gospels of the Bible are filled with scripture focusing on Jesus and his life. In this 4-week study, Jesus: Prayers, Parables, and Healing Ministry, you will explore these stories to help grow your discipleship journey.

Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Midweek Message Rev. Paul Overholt, will guide this discussion on exploring these stories as found in the four Gospels of the Bible.

Tai Chi is a Chinese tradition that can be used as a form of mediation through movement. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. With its low impact movements Tai Chi is appropriate for all ages.

Join Dixie Squires on Jan. 9 and 16 as she leads a class in the flowing movements of Tai Chi at 6 p.m.
